The NIS2 directive (Network and Information Security Directive 2) is European legislation that sets cybersecurity requirements for organizations in critical and important sectors. The directive mandates risk management, incident reporting obligations and supply chain security, among other things.

When does NIS2 take effect?

EU member states were required to transpose NIS2 into national law by October 17, 2024. In the Netherlands, this will become the Cybersecurity Act (Cbw). Organizations should already be making preparations.
